Abrasion the process of scraping or wearing something away.

The source of material is found negatives that people have discarded.  The act of discarding a family snap shot fascinates me, as the memories of such events have no longer a purpose to their owner, is this a rejection of that memory or simply a discard of a physical representation of it .

 

Is this is due to the fact that images nowadays are mainly stored digitally on a computer rather than keeping the negatives.

The intention is irrelevant as the spontaneity of viewers reasoning is quite fascinating.
